Chinese red lacquer and cork carving jewellery box with two compartments (MFJB002)
This is a richly coloured Chinese jewellery box with various shades of intense deep reds to give warmth and depth. The red lacquer is finished with many layers of gloss lacquer, each layer being allowed to dry thoroughly before the next is applied to produce a light and strong luminous finish.
The picture on top of the box is made out of cork carvings. The picture features Chinese landscapes with a black lacquer back ground and the picture is set behind glass. The inside of the drawers are lined with red a silky material.
The top compartment has a section on the left for rings to slot in. There is a drawer at the bottom of the unit. The box comes with a lock and key to secure the top compartment.

Bottom drawer: 15 cm X 9cm
Overall measurements: 18x12x12.5cm
