The picture shows the Chinese characters fro Wealth, Prosperity and Longevity against a plum blossom tree.
This is a richly coloured picture with various shades of intense rich red to give warmth and depth. The picture uses layers of gloss lacquer, each layer being allowed to dry thoroughly before the next is applied to produce a light and strong luminous finish. The main subjects of the picture are inlaid with mother of pearl which compliments the red beautifully.
