This is a richly coloured jewellery box with various shades of intense deep reds to give warmth and depth. The red lacquer is finished with many layers of gloss lacquer, each layer being allowed to dry thoroughly before the next is applied to produce a light and strong luminous finish.
The picture on the top of the box is made out of cork. The picture features Chinese landscapes with a black lacquer background and the picture is set behind glass. The inside of the box is lined with red silky material. On the left of the compartment is a section for rings.
The approximate measurements are: 21.5 x 15.5 x 8cm
