“Ume Apricot” Quality traditional Japanese Kokeshi doll
The kokeshi doll has been created by a craft originating in the hot spring resort of Tohoku in Northern Japan.
The craft of making Kokeshi doll has branched into two sectors:
Traditional kokeshi, this follows specific characteristic of the region in which the craftsman has learnt his trade and the craft has been handed down through the generations.
Creative kokeshi, this allows the craftsman to develop his own style and characteristics.
This wooden doll with black hair and an in ivory finish with pink, blue and gold kimono. There is a stamp at the base of the doll showing the craftsman’s signature.
